STANDING COMMITTEES 
Standing committees perform a continuing function focused around a commonly themed, broad scope of work. Standing committee chairs will also serve on the greater Executive Board with an opportunity to vote on PTSA items of business. 


Advocacy & Inclusion (2) 
Identify, represent and advance the interests of all students and families so the Executive Board as a whole can meet the National PTA mission of Every Child, One Voice.  This standing committee will work to research and listen to key topics and challenges to help ensure high-quality, equitable educational experience for every student. 

 

Membership
Build a vibrant, inclusive and engaged PTSA community through personal outreach, activities and digital campaigns.  


Wellness
Promote holistic wellness opportunities to support the well-being of the school community through education, activities and advocacy.  

 

SPECIAL COMMITTEES
Special committees have a singular focus, such as annual events, and report to a member of the Executive Board.

AMS Book Fair - Spring
Coordinate with vendor to set up book fair; promote event and solicit volunteers; coordinate with teachers for classroom visits

AMS Lost & Found - Quarterly

Organize Lost & Found area and distribute photos to encourage pickups in a timely and consistent schedule; gather and donate items on a quarterly basis.


AMS Photos - Fall

Coordinate with school to distribute and collect forms; create flyers and social media posts; coordinate with school to distribute photos; coordinate with PTSA VP of Fundraising on picture day and rain date solicit volunteers

AMS Read-a-thon - Spring
Set up school profiles; create flyers and social media posts to promote and encourage participation; create additional incentives with ELA department’s recommendations; organize and distribute prizes

Ardsley Cares Day - Fall
Organize a day of giving back for the whole community. Coordinate with local charities to identify high needs, collaborate with Village officials and local businesses to provide support; create flyers and social media posts; oversee activity chairs and volunteers for each event

 

Cookie Dough - Winter
Work with vendor to set up items and dates for orders; create flyers and social media posts; solicit volunteers to distribute items

 

CRS Artists - Spring
Work with vendor to set up ordering system; create flyers and social media posts; coordinate artwork pick up with CRS art teachers

CRS Book Fair - Fall
Coordinate with vendor to set up book fair; promote event and solicit volunteers; coordinate with teachers for classroom visits; select and arrange details for an in-person author visit  

 

CRS Lost & Found - Monthly
Organize Lost & Found area and distribute photos to encourage pickups in a timely and consistent schedule; gather and donate items on a quarterly basis

 

CRS Photos - Fall
Coordinate with school to distribute and collect forms; create flyers and social media posts; solicit volunteers for photo days; coordinate with school to distribute photos

 

CRS School Supplies - Summer/Fall
Work with vendor to get quotes for school supplies for grades 1-5, and Concord Road special classes; create flyers and social media posts; collaborate with faculty and class parents to promote; solicit volunteers to distribute before school begins

 

CRS Read-a-thon - Spring
Set up school profiles; create flyers and social media posts to promote and encourage participation; create additional incentives with teachers input; organize and distribute prizes

 
CRS Yearbook - Year Round
Solicit photos from staff and parents to showcase school events and clubs; coordinate with School Photos Co-Chairs and staff to fact-check names on class photos; run Boosters for 4th grade parents; create flyers and social media posts; oversee distribution


Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee - Year Round
Lead initiatives that promote equity and inclusivity within the school community; strategic planning, facilitating meetings, coordinating with stakeholders, and supporting the implementation of DEI programs and policies.

Flower Sales - (TBD)
Coordinate with vendors; set up sales pages; create flyers and social media posts; oversee volunteers for set up and distribution

 

Harlem Wizards - Winter
Join current co-chairs to coordinate with the Harlem Wizards for player solicitation, ticket sales, flyers and social media, snack sales, raffle sales, and day-of-game setup and breakdown

 

Jenkins Award - Spring
Create flyers and social media posts; deliberate over nominees and determine recipients; oversee the evening event including setup and break down

 

Kindergarten Meet and Greet - Fall
Organize a gathering for incoming kindergarten families at the start of the school year. 


Local Business Liaison

Reach out to local businesses for campaigns for giveback campaigns, including DeCicco’s annual card renewal; create flyers and social media; research other partnerships between PTSA and local business support

Million Meal Project 

Join existing co-chair to oversee a one-day event packaging food supplies; coordinate with Million Meal founders, solicit volunteers; create flyers and social media; oversee the event including setup and break down

 

Popsicles with the Principals - Fall
Organize a meet-and-greet for families and CRS principals at the start of the school year. 

Pop-Up Shop - Quarterly
Set up a shopping kiosk at Ardsley Middle School; vet vendors and purchase inventory; maintain bookkeeping; promote and solicit volunteers for each event


Spirit Wear - Ongoing

This team will shadow the current team and officially take over in January; vet vendors for clothing and apparel; oversee item selection and design; create flyers and social media; coordinate with schools for in-person sales at key events; oversee sales events including setup and break down; oversee volunteers for in-person sales

 

Staff Appreciation - Fall
Organize staff welcome gifts from the PTSA, coordinate staff appreciation luncheons and custodian appreciation meals across all three schools.

 

Welcome - Fall/Ongoing
Send out welcome packet to incoming families; attend Back to School events to greet incoming families; guide families toward helpful information and resources; encourage PTSA membership to new families
