Classroom & Teacher Grants

 

​The Ardsley PTSA is pleased to offer grants to enhance the curriculum through the purchase of materials or resources not already included in the school budget or in the PTSA budget that is allocated to each each school at the beginning of the year. Teachers and other members of the staff are encouraged to submit their grant requests when the school year begins. Grant Request Form (closes Jan 31st)

PTSA Grant Request Procedures Purpose: The Parent-Teacher-Student Association (PTSA) is committed to enhancing the educational experience for our students through funding grants for projects and initiatives proposed by teachers. These grants support initiatives that enrich the curriculum, improve the learning environment, and elevate student learning experiences. Grant

 

Submission Guidelines:

1. Pre-Approval:

○ Before submitting a grant request, discuss your proposed project with your building principal and curriculum leaders.

○ Obtain their approval and endorsement for the project.

 

2. Timing:

○ Grant cycle ends on January 31st, 2026. If additional funds remain, the application deadline may be extended.

○ Grants will be reviewed and considered in the order in which they are received.

 

3. Eligibility:

○ Grants should be used for materials, resources, or initiatives not typically covered by the school budget.

○ For items that should be included in the school budget, the PTSA can advocate for funding at the school and district level.

○ Individual classroom grants have a limit of approximately $400.

○ Entire grade, department, or subject area proposals can exceed $400. The Ardsley PTSA has a limited amount of money; grants will be awarded upon approval of building principals and review of the Ardsley PTSA Executive Board.

○ Grants will be reviewed and considered in the order in which they are received.

 

4. Proposal Requirements:

○ Include district-approved vendor quotes with your grant proposal.

i. Amazon is an approved vendor but should be used as a last resort. If using Amazon, provide a screenshot of the order.

○ The grant request must match the exact cost of the item(s) as stated in the quote. For instance, if the quote is $297.35, request that specific amount—do not round up. The district cannot accept donations unless for the exact purchase amount.

 

5. Submission Process:

○ Submit your grant request with the required quotes through your building coordinator to the PTSA for review.

○ Ensure that the quote is accurate and represents the true cost of the items or services.

 

6. Payment:

○ Payment will be processed upon grant approval based on the official vendor quote provided.

○ The PTSA will remit payment directly to the district.

 

7. Order Management:

○ After grant approval, teachers are responsible for ordering materials or arranging programs.

○ All ordering should be coordinated through the respective school administrative assistant.
